| Two
years ago the wheels on 50049 were identified as being at minimum size. In
order to replace them, both bogies would need to be removed and largely
disassembled. Consequently it was sensible to look at the option of
undertaking a full bogie overhaul.
To complete this work the bogies were completely
stripped down and many parts overhauled, repaired or even replaced. This
has been undertaken by a Railway Engineering company in Cardiff.
The work will cost over £20,000. If you'd like to help
